The Problem
Flipzy was a new entrant in the competitive mobile trade-in space, going up against established brands like Mazuma Mobile. The challenge was to create a youthful, engaging brand that would connect with younger consumers - primarily Gen Z and Millennials - who value speed, ease, and digital-first experiences. At the outset, the business had no name, no visual identity, and no digital presence.
The Solution
I led the creative direction from concept to launch, starting with brand strategy and naming:
Naming: Created the name "Flipzy", designed to feel modern, memorable, and playful - perfectly aligned with the brand’s tech-savvy, trade-in ethos.
Brand identity: Developed a vibrant visual identity that conveyed simplicity, trust, and youth appeal — using bold colours, rounded typography, and dynamic graphics.
UX & UI design: Designed a mobile-first website optimised for quick interactions - streamlined user flows for device selection, instant quotes, and trade-in confirmation.
Marketing assets:
Designed animated social content tailored for platforms like Instagram and TikTok to build brand awareness and trust.
Created Google Display Ads that extended the visual identity into high-performing digital ads.
Delivered a unified design system to ensure consistency across all customer touch-points.
